Donald E. Francis, 74 of Keokuk, IA died Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Keosauqua Healthcare Center in Keosauqua, IA.

He was born August 16, 1948 in Keokuk, IA the son of Oscar Sr. and Nina Elmore Francis.

Donald was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.

On July 28, 2001 Donald was united in marriage to Mary Ann Dallas in Keokuk at the Rand Park flower garden. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2022.

Donald had been employed as an over the road truck driver and by Rairden's Auto Salvage Towing in Keokuk. He also had been a cab driver for his stepson.

He enjoyed cooking, camping and traveling. Donald was always on the lookout for mom and pop restaurants while out on the road. He loved going to yard sales and antique shops to hunt for knickknacks to add to his collections.

He is survived by one daughter, Sonja Wadsager, five step-sons, Raymond LeRoy Wilson, Jr. of Keokuk, Arthur Woodro Wilson (Sherry) of Keokuk, John Gerald Wilson of Florida, Gerald Lee Wilson (Brandi) of Kahoka, MO and Chris Washburn and one step-daughter, Theresa Ann Adams (Frankie) of South Carolina, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Shari Brookins (James) of Wichita, KS and three brothers, Oscar Francis (Dona) of Keokuk, David Francis (Dorothy) of Hamilton, IL and Jesse (Beth) Francis of Grand Island, NE.

Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Wanda Campbell and her husband Lindi and Julia Champlin.

A Gathering of Remembrance will be held from 2-4 p.m., Tuesday, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with family meeting with friends at that time.
