Donald "Donnie" Ferguson, 68, of Winchester, Missouri died Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Missouri.
He was born July 15, 1949 in Clark County, Missouri the son of Virgil "Teeter" and Eleanor Pattinson Ferguson. In 1969 he married Mildred Dietrich. To this union three children were born, Jeannie Marie, Melissa and Eric. She preceded him in death in 1980. He later married Teresa Inman and have been married for 37 years. She survives.
He is also survived by his children: Jeannie (Dan) Schwab of Keokuk, Melissa (Jim) McKee of New York, Eric Ferguson of Kahoka, and Halie Ferguson and her companion James Hessley of Kahoka, grandchildren: Stefani, Dylan, Taylor, Darren, Kristen, Travis, Austin, Noah, Shayne, Payton, Lance, Brynlee and Maci, three brothers: Harold Ferguson, Gale (Kathy) Ferguson all of Wayland and Larry (Barb) Ferguson of Keokuk; three sisters: JoAnn Moon, Janet (Ron) Ryan, both of Canton, and Linda Smeltser of Wayland, mother in law, Martha Delores Kinkeade of Wayland, as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Joyce Campbell, step father in law, Albert Earl Ewalt, five brothers in law, Bud Campbell, Lloyd Moon, Tony Inman, Larry and Jerry Kinkeade.
Donnie was the owner of Ferguson Plumbing. He enjoyed working and even volunteered his time helping the elderly with little things that needed done around their homes. He retired from Iron Workers Local #577 in 2009 and still continued to do plumbing in the area.
Donnie battled a courageous battle of cancer and has been cancer survivor since 2013.
He enjoyed playing euchre, gardening and riding four wheelers. Most of all he loved his family especially his grandchildren.
Gathering of remembrance was held after 9 a.m. Friday June 22, 2018 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka with the family meeting with friends from 5 – 8 p.m.
A luncheon was held on Saturday, June 23 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Kahoka VFW. A time for food and fellowship.
