Donald Darrell Dale Jr., 43, of Keokuk, formerly of Quincy, Ill., died Friday (Sept. 3, 2010) in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Donny was a good mechanic. His true love was drag racing. He loved spending time fishing, hunting and drag racing. He lived his life to the fullest with no regrets. He will be missed. Survivors include two sisters, Misty Dale Wagner and husband, Jim, of Arizona, and Dawn Dale Roberts of St. Louis and her husband, Bryan, who is serving in Afghanistan; three nephews and one niece, Ryan Powell of St. Louis, Timothy Roberts of St. Louis, and Chance Wagner, and Jamie Craft of Arizona; his father, Donald Dale Sr. of Las Vegas; two uncles, Buddy Calhoun and wife, Jan, of Forsyth, Ill., and Lee Mason and wife, Cindy, of Keokuk; an aunt Vera Purdy and husband, Teddy, of Indiana; an great aunt, Mary Bowen and husband, Jack, of Quincy; a great uncle, Richard McCabe and wife Shirley, of St. Louis; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Dale, formerly of Quincy; an aunt, Sharon Brun of Las Vegas; an aunt and uncle, Thelma and Marvin Mangold; and grandmothers, Margret Crites and Lillian Dale, both of Quincy. There is no visitation or services planned at this time.
