Dolores A. Johnson, 88, of Montrose, IA, died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the West Point Care Center in West Point, IA. She was born on November 13, 1923 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of James Harvey and Pearl Ethel Krumm Phillips. On May 18, 1945, Dolores was united in marriage to Clarence Johnson in Ft. Madison, IA. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2008. Dolores graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1941. In her younger years she had worked at the button factory in Keokuk. Dolores was an active member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ft. Madison, IA. She was a past president of the Woman's Guild at First Lutheran Church in Keokuk. She was an avid reader. Dolores enjoyed spending time outdoors where she took pleasure in gardening and flowers and watching wild birds, She is survived by three sons, Jim Johnson and his wife Diane of New Berlin, WI, Mike Johnson and his wife Joyce of Montrose, IA and Paul Johnson and his wife Candy of Keokuk, IA, three daughters, Dorothy Kensett of Ft. Madison, IA, Pam Muenchow and her husband Wayne of Austin, TX and Teresea Goedicke and her husband Paul of Atlas, OK, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mary Carlson and Jean Schmid both of Keokuk, IA. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Patricia Schulte, one grandchild, one great-grandchild and three brothers-in-law. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Kimberly Riebe officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk, IA. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ft. Madison, IA or Lee County Hospice.
