Dolly S. White, 73, of Keokuk, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2014. She was born on July 16, 1940 in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of John W. and Jeanette Ragar Sammons. On April 15, 1966, Dolly was united in marriage to Harold E. White in Wauconda, IL. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2011. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Keokuk and greatly enjoyed attending Bible Study groups. Dolly enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb when it came to her flowers. She also enjoyed antiquing and traveling. Dolly was an extremely devoted mother and homemaker who spent her life making a wonderful home for her husband and children. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she treasured the time she spent with them. She is survived by four sons, Daniel Coop of Keokuk, John Coop and his wife Diana of Casa Grande, AZ, Timothy Coop and his wife Kathy of Ft. Campbell, KY and Mark White of Guthrie, KY, ten grandchildren, Vernon, Benjamin, Amanda, Jami, Michael, Mathew, Tabetha, Elizabeth, Gabrielle and Joseph, ten great-grandchildren, her mother, Jeannette Sammons of Keokuk, two brothers, John D. Sammons and his wife Bonny and Michael Sammons and his wife Kathryn all of Keokuk, one sister, Nancy Holland and her husband Charles of Tampa, FL and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her father. Her Funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 27th, 2014 at the Evangelical Free Church in Keokuk. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, the Evangelical-Free Church or St. Judes Children's Hospital.
