Dixie Howell, 65 of Keokuk died Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk. She was born October 5, 1950 in Keokuk the daughter of Felix L. and Mary Canada Howell. Dixie graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1969. Later in life Dixie furthered her education by attending Southeastern Community College where she received her Associate of Arts degree. She had been employed at Shaffer Pen in Ft. Madison, IA, Grand Lunch in Keokuk and then Griffin Wheel in Keokuk where she stayed for twenty-three years until her retirement. Dixie volunteered at God's Way Christian Center in Keokuk. She enjoyed spending time on the computer, playing games and surfing the web. She loved to knit and created beautiful gifts for family and friends. She is survived by one sister, Judith Long and her husband Richard of Keokuk, one brother, John Howell of Keokuk and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Sue Anderson and two nephews. There will be no services.
