View Video Tribute Derek Shaul, 33, of Keokuk, IA died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at his home in Keokuk, Iowa. He was born August 21, 1978 in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Dennis and Becky Burgess Shaul. He is survived by his son, Colby Deck of Keokuk, IA, Darrien Leeper, who he loved like a son, his father, Dennis Shaul of Keokuk, IA, a brother Damon Shaul and his companion Jenae Bemis of Warsaw, IL nieces and nephews, Shelby Ann "Sassy" Shaul, Bryar "Chubs" Shaul, and Dalton Bemis, and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Becky, his grandparents, Clyde and Beverly Hagmeier, Cornelius and Betty Burgess and an uncle, Douglas Eugene Shaul. Derek enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing pool and was on several area pool leagues. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. A Gathering of Remembrance was held Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA. Burial will in the Kahoka Cemetery in Kahoka, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the family.
