Dennis Wayne Leggett, 60 of Wayland, MO died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at his home. He was born January 14, 1954 in Keokuk, IA the son of Wayne and Norma Glassford Leggett. He was united in marriage to Karla Lorentzen and to this union two children were born. They divorced. He was later united in marriage to Lesa Job. They divorced. Dennis graduated from Central Lee High School with the Class of 1972. He was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country and later joined the National Guard. Dennis had been employed at Keokuk Steel Castings for fifteen years. He enjoyed planting flowers, going antiquing and collecting angels. Dennis was a huge Chicago Bears fan and never missed a game. He is survived by eight children, Dacia Leggett of St. Francisville, MO, Jared Leggett of Kahoka, MO, Ashlee McKnight and her husband Tommy of Keokuk, Jayna LeMaster and her husband Landon of Keokuk and Nora Job of Keokuk, Josh "George" Payne of Keokuk, Richard Payne of Keokuk and Justus Berquam of Keokuk, seven grandchildren, Tristan and Brayden Fry, Jailyn Leggett, Cale, Addie, Chloe and Avaleen McKnight, two sisters, Linda Gibson of Hamilton and Patty Frye of Hickory, NC, two brothers, Mike Leggett of Ft. Madison, IA and Brent Leggett of Des Moines, IA and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Doug Leggett. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 13th, 2014 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Reverend John Simpson officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Keokuk National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors or Ticket to Dream Foundation.
