Deloris Sanders, 85, of Keokuk, IA died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA. She was born on January 20, 1925 in Argyle, IA, the daughter of John Herman "Bud" and Vivian Marie Brodsky Rube. On June 1, 1948, Deloris was united in marriage to Corwin Sanders at the First Baptist Church in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2002. Deloris graduated from the Missouri Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She had been a Registered Nurse for thirty six years, retiring in 1982. She had been employed with Graham Hospital and Sheller Globe in Keokuk and also worked as a nurse in Florida and Texas. She was a member of the Bel Air Baptist Church in Keokuk. Deloris enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts and taking care of her home and family. She is survived by two sons, Corwin Dale Sanders and his wife Cindy of Keokuk and Steven Paul Sanders and his wife Shirley of St. Charles, MO, five grandchildren, Chadwick Dale Sanders and his wife Jannifer, Robert Matthew Sanders and his wife Shannon, Emma Suzanne Sanders, Stephanie Jane Parker and her husband Brian and Kimberly Jane Sanders, 6 great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Dianne Sanders, Christian Matthew Sanders, Gabrielle Grace Sanders, Olivia Kate Sanders, Gavin Alexander Parker and Madison Elizabeth Parker, one sister, Virginia Arlene Stockton of Olathe, KS and one brother, Wayne Herman Rube and his wife Carolyn of Ft. Madison, IA. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Delphia Mae Lezer, and one brother Stanley Ellsworth Rube. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Bel Air Baptist Church in Keokuk with Pastor Clegguart Mitchell officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Memorials may be made to the Bel Air Baptist Church or the River Hills Village Activity Department.
