Delores Jean McNeill, 85 of Hamilton, IL died on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at River Hills Village in Keokuk. She was born on April 7, 1929, in Keokuk, the fourth of five children born to Everett and Sarah Wadden Sale. She was united in marriage to John J. McNeill on November 27, 1947 in Keokuk. He preceded her in death. Delores was reared in Keokuk, graduating from Keokuk High School in 1947. She had been employed at the Cozy Corner, Chuck Wagon #1 and Montgomery Ward. She and John owned and operated McNeill Heating and Air Conditioning in Hamilton, IL, until John's death in October 1994. Delores was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Hamilton for forty-seven years. Delores is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Connie) McNeill of Hamilton and Warren (Barbara) McNeill of Monmouth, IL, three grandchildren, Eric McNeill and Jason McNeill both of Hamilton, IL and Maureen McNeill of East Peoria, IL, one sister, Shirley Ammer of LaGrange, MO, three nephews, Donald Robertson and James Sale, both of Keokuk and Douglas Ammer of Lake of the Ozarks, MO, one niece, Cheri Barnhardt of Washington, IL and ten great-nieces and great-nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Everett "Bud" Sale and James "Roy" Sale, one sister, Martha Robertson Campbell, and one niece, Jean Ann Nichols. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 10th, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Hamilton with Reverend Paul Smith officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church.
