Delores Jean South Lambert, 73, of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA.
She was born November 26, 1935 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Victor and Helen Johnson South. On August 17, 1955 Delores was united in marriage to Gerald E. Lambert in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2007.
In her younger years, Delores had been employed at Swifts in Keokuk. She then was employed at the Holiday Inn for twenty five years, retiring in 1994 as housekeeping supervisor.
She was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk.
She loved working crossword puzzles and word search puzzles. She also enjoyed flower gardening. Delores was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by one daughter, Yvonne Sue Seabold and her fiancé Tony Brady, of Keokuk, two sons, Donnie Lambert and his wife Darci of Keokuk, Ronnie Lambert and his wife Amy of Montrose, four grandsons, Andrew Lambert, Chris Day, Brandon Joshua Daniel, six granddaughters, Dawn Lambert, Teracea Lambert, Amanda Harris, Heather Lambert, Jessica Lambert, Abigail Lambert, seven great grandchildren, two brothers, Chester South and his wife Carla of Kahoka, MO, Larry South and his wife Colleen of Wayland, MO, one sister, Linda LeMaster and her husband George of Wayland, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jerry South, and a son-in-law, Tim Seabold.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 22 at the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in Keokuk National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation towards granting a wish for a Keokuk area child.
