Delores Ruth Blaise, 86, of Keokuk died Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, IA.
She was born August 25, 1930 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Albert and Ruby Dundy Vahle. On December 31, 1954 she was united in marriage to John R. Blaise in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2003.
Delores graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1948.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Keokuk.
Delores was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan. She loved to bowl and had bowled on the VeraMae Beauty Team. She was quite proud of her personal best score of 300. She kept her mind sharp by working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Delores adored her grandchildren and the time she spent with them was priceless. The memories that were made will live on in their hearts forever.
Delores is survived by one daughter, Tina Blaise (Gary Rampley) of Keokuk, two grandchildren, Scottie Huff of Longwood, FL and Raegan Frazier (Derek) of Keokuk, eight great-grandchildren, Isabella Russo, Cash Steele, Gage Morales, Hallei, Aubrey, Alivia, Ethan and Kinleigh Frazier, one brother, Lewis Paul Vahle and his wife Donna of Quincy, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Mitch, on May 14, 1982, her parents, two brothers, Ronald Eugene Vahle and Jerry Lee Vahle.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday December 17, 2016 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Lewis Vahle and Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery.
