Delbert Warren Custer

Delbert Warren Custer, 86 of Hamilton, IL passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at River Hills Village in Keokuk.

He was born on August 30, 1938 in Cedar Rapids, IA the son of Warren Dewey and Anna El Dora Huffman Custer. Delbert graduated from Keokuk High School.

On January 16, 1956 Delbert was united in marriage to Barbara Kunkel in Quincy, IL. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2020.

Delbert had been employed by Hubinger/Roquette in Keokuk for over thirty years, until his retirement.

Delbert was a talented woodworker and enjoyed spending time working on various projects. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son, Danny Custer (Kristi) of Hamilton, IL, one grandson, Drake Custer (Ashley) of Keokuk and two great-grandsons, Drayton and Dominic. He is also survived by two sisters, Della Campbell of Keokuk and Delores Rossi of Arizona and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Darin Custer, one grandson, Dane Custer and one sister, Dollie Mae Custer.

A graveside service was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk.

There will be no visitation.
