Debra Jayne "Debbie" Carroll

Debra Jayne "Debbie" Carroll, 61, of Keokuk died Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at her home. She was born December 13, 1953 in Keokuk the daughter of Albert "Obie" and Alyce "Jayne" Garner O'Bleness. On May 3, 1975 Debbie was united in marriage to Dave Carroll at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Keokuk. He survives. She is also survived by two sons, Brian Carroll (Tisha) of Hamilton, IL and Christopher Carroll (Megan) of Hamilton, IL, five grandchildren, Aubree, Ascher, Kyler, Ethan and Robert, her father, Albert "Obie" O'Bleness of Keokuk, one sister, Denise O'Bleness (Scott Verhagen) of New York City, NY, one brother, Michael O'Bleness (Janet) of Keokuk, one niece, Jessica O'Bleness, one nephew, Andrew O'Bleness (Kelsey) and special friend, Sherry Taylor. She was preceded in death by her mother. Debbie graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1972. Debbie was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk. She enjoyed playing card games, playing tennis, creating stained glass and cooking. Her home was always open for her son's friends to come over and hang out and eat some of her good cooking. She loved butterflies and their detail and beauty gave her much delight. Debbie was a loving wife and devoted mother and her greatest joy was to care for her family. Her grandchildren were the sunshine of her life and she loved spending time with them. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk with Father Robert Lathrop officiating. Visitation will be held after 1 p.m., Sunday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with family meeting with friends from 4 – 7 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. led by Father Thomas Szydlik. Memorials may be made to the Debbie Carroll Memorial Fund for her grandchildren's education.
