Dean E. Wilson, 88, of Whittemore, IA died Sunday, May 31, 2015 at his home.
Dean was born on January 27, 1927 in Kahoka, MO the son of Lenna Salyers.
He graduated from the Kahoka High School.
Dean enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War.
Dean studied at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA, where he received his undergraduate degree. He then furthered his studies at the University and received his Masters Degree and his Ph.D.
He had been a professor at the Iowa State University in Ames before his retirement.
Dean is survived by one sister, Mary Sapp of Quincy, IL, one brother, Don Hunter of Quincy, IL and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lenna Salyers Brassfield, and three brothers, Calvin Gilbert, James Gilbert and William "Bill" Skogin.
Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, IA.
