David Andrew Goodman, 64, of Hamilton, IL died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA.
David was born on October 10, 1950 in Tennessee, the son of Rev. Rueben Samuel and Mary Tucker Goodman. On May 4, 1991 David was united in marriage to Renee Mohr in Kahoka, MO. She survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Peggy Hanson and her husband Randy of Minnesota, one son, David W. Goodman, Jr and his wife Patricia of Minnesota, six grandchildren, Halie and Randi Hanson, Andrew, Tyler, Austin and Joshua Goodman, one great-grandchild, Gemma Gardner, his mother-in-law, Betty Mohr of Kahoka, MO, two sisters, Nan Vitense and her husband Neil of Arkansas, Myrt McIntyre and her husband Burley of Missouri, four brothers, Tom Goodman of Des Moines, IA, Rick Goodman and his wife Marilyn of Des Moines, Daniel Goodman and his wife Betty of Maryland, Joe Goodman and his wife Beckie of Des Moines and many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Paul Goodman, two sisters,
Becky Mathis and Sarah Rachel Goodman and his father-in-law, Everett Mohr.
He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, MO.
David was employed at ADM in Keokuk for 24 years before his retirement.
He enjoyed collecting antique toys especially old John Deere and Oliver tractors. David also enjoyed hunting, being outdoors, and building things. He created many projects for his yard such as Christmas reindeer and flower planters. David was an avid Kansas City Chiefs Fan. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife. David was a loving father and husband and treasured the times he spent with his family.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, IL with Pastor Brett Laszlo officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Great River Medical Cancer Center in West Burlington, IA.
