Danny T. Kay, 53, of Keokuk, IA, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born on February 28, 1956 in Keokuk, the son of Henry Junior and Donna Wyrick Kay. On July 12, 1979, he was united in marriage to Rossella "Rossi" Bennett in Keokuk, IA. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Danny T. Kay, Jr. of Peoria, IL, one daughter, Nicole Ham and her husband Roland of Chandler, AZ, his mom and pops, Donna and Gerald Price of Keokuk, IA, his biological father, Henry "Junie" Kay of Keokuk, IA, one sister, Nancy Jones and her husband Bill of Wood River, IL, one niece, Erica Roberts, two nephews, Josh and Adam Jones, a great-niece, Kayla Martinez, numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, one brother-in-law, Jim Bennett and his wife Shelley of Carthage, IL, two sisters-in-law, Carmen Clampitt and her husband Ronnie of West Point, IL and Sandy Steffenson and her husband Chuck of Aurora, CO. He was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Kay, his maternal grandparents, Ray V. Wyrick and Emma Shoemaker Wyrick and his paternal grandparents, Henry William Kay and Flora Young VanDorin. Danny graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1974. He had been employed at Roquette America in Keokuk for thirty five years. He was a member of the Elks Club of Keokuk, the Keokuk Yacht Club and the Keokuk Coin Club. He was also a member and past president of the Local 48 American Federation of Grain Millers. Danny enjoyed playing cards, coin collecting, playing golf, fishing and hunting for mushrooms. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all kinds of sports. A wake was held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 6 at the Elks Club in Keokuk.
