View Video Tribute Daniel Gene "Danny" Stark, 50, of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at his home. He was born on October 28, 1958 in Hannibal, MO, the son of Lonnie and Patsy Stark Best. On July 21, 1979, Danny was united in marriage to Kathy Schmitz in Alexandria, MO. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Jason Stark of Keokuk, one daughter, Brooklin Stark of Keokuk, two grandchildren, Daniel Quinn Stark and Chloe Stark, both of Keokuk, one sister, Audrey Burgess of Keokuk, four brothers, Greg "Buzz' Stark and his wife Sheila, Terry Best and his wife Brenda, Lonnie Best and Dennis Best all of Keokuk, three sisters-in-law, Deb Schmitz and her friend Tracy Lander of Keokuk, Kristy Martin of Keokuk, and Joy Means and her husband Ronnie of Clear Lake, IA, two brothers-in-law, Jeff Schmitz and Kenny Schmitz and his wife Suzie all of Keokuk, his step-father, Lonnie Best of Keokuk, special friends, Lori Naifeh of Keokuk, Frank Hall and his wife Joann and Becca Hall all of Wayland, MO, numerous nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts. He was preceded in death by his mother. Danny had been self-employed for thirty years and had been employed with the Keokuk Junction Railroad for 1 ½ years. He was a member of God's Way Christian Church in Keokuk. Danny enjoyed working on home renovation and vehicle restoration projects. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Danny was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a treasured friend to many. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m., Friday, February 13, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Sylvia Tillman officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Memorials may be made to the family.
