Daniel Roger Anderson, 71 of Warsaw, IL died Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Iowa City, IA.
He was born July 24, 1943 in Keokuk the son of Gabriel and Gladys Andrson. On August 28, 1999 he was united in marriage to Linda Hammes Saresky in Warsaw. She survives.
Other survivors include one son Eric Anderson of Keokuk, one daughter, Tara Anderson of Orlando, FL, one step-son, Joe Saresky and his wife Malenie of Keota, IA, two step-daughters, Shelly Leffler and her husband Randy of Aviston, IL and LeighAnn Grunden and her husband Rick of Coal Camp, MO. five step-grandchildren, Joe Saresky, Rileigh Grunden, Reanne Grunden, Brooke Atlheide and Shelly Haley, six step-great-grandchildren, three sisters, Elaine Draines of Macomb, IL, Anna Goetz of Palmyra, MO and Risa Langedal (Rune) of Keokuk, three brothers, John Anderson of Kahoka, MO, William Anderson and his wife Ruthann of Keokuk and his twin brother, Donald Anderson and his wife Betty of Keokuk and numerous nieces and nephews.
Daniel graduated with the Class of 1961 and later attended Southeastern Community College in Keokuk.
Daniel was a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Yokohama, Japan.
He had been employed at Best Company and Seither and Cherry both in Keokuk.
He was a member of the VFW in Warsaw, IL, the American Legion Post #41 in Keokuk, the Masonic Lodge, the Shriners and a former member of the Southside Boat Club.
He was a very talented woodcarver and loved to create Disney and Looney Tunes characters for his grandchildren. He enjoyed trap shooting and fishing, reading books about History and watching the History Channel on television. He was an avid Jeff Gordon fan and Chicago Cub fan.
A wake will be held from 3 - 9 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Chippers Lounge in Warsaw.
Memorials may be made to the Warsaw Public Library or the VA Medical Center, 7 West, in Iowa City, IA.
