Dale Lee Hagmeier 73, of Keokuk died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his home.
He was born May 4, 1943 in Keokuk the son of Jesse and Goldie Elston Hagmeier. He was united in marriage to Maria Mueller in Montrose, IA.
Dale was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
Dale had been the owner and operator of Hagmeier Machine & Design where he worked as an inventor, tool and die maker, machinist and fabricator until his retirement in 2005.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Dale enjoyed target shooting, playing pool and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was a rodeo lover and enjoyed bull riding and horse training. He was talented at making knives and wood carvings. Dale was a people person and really enjoyed being with his friends.
He is survived by two daughters, Hanna Hagmeier of Keokuk and Michelle Bowman of AZ, one son, Dalton Hagmeier of Springdale, AR one grandson, Tyson Hagmeier of Keokuk, one brother, Ron Hagmeier and his wife Kathy of Montrose, IA, two sisters, Karen Moore and her husband Jim of Downing, MO and Phyllis Benner and her husband Ed of Keokuk, and his side kicks, Austin and Everett Salter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Wayne, Roy and Fredrick Hagmeier.
A graveside service with military rites was held at 2 p.m. August 19, 2016 in the Keokuk National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family for the college fund of Tyson Hagmeier and Everett Salter.
