Cyril Edward Joseph Woods, 83, of rural Kahoka, MO died Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born August 13, 1922 in Dutzo, Mo the son of Edward and Mary M. Metalic Woods. He was united in marriage to Anna Marie Boddeker. She preceded him in death in 2003. Cyril was a veteran of the United States Army and served with the 301st Engineeer Combat Batallion in France, Belgium, Germany and Austria. He received his Honorable discharge on February 2, 1946. After his discharge from the service Cyril started farming near Niota, IL then in 1958 moved to Kahoka, MO to farm. He was a member of the St. Martha's Catholic Church in Wayland, MO. He loved Bluegrass music and enjoyed going to Bluegrass festivals. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed life to the fullest. Cyril is survived by one daughter, Patricia Garner of Kahoka, MO, two sons, William Woods and Larry Woods both of Kahoka, MO, one brother, Earl Woods of Nauvoo, IL, five grandchildren, Sandy Trudell and her husband Kyle of Canton, MO, Dan Garner and his wife Rickie of Warsaw, IL, Larry Woods, Jr. and his wife Melissa of Ft. Madison, IA, Ryan Woods and his wife Mandi of Wayland, MO, and Eric Woods and his wife Kelsi of Kahoka, MO, four great grandchildren, several cousins including Eleanora Hudson of Wayland, MO. He was also preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Mass was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 1, at the St. Martha's Catholic Church in Wayland, MO with Father Paul Connolly officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Frazee Cemetery, rural Wayland, MO
