Corey Scott Gibson, 25, of Keokuk, IA, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at his home.
He was born on April 14, 1983 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Scott and Kelly Wollbrink Gibson.
Corey graduated from Keokuk Senior High with the Class of 2001. He had been employed as an Assistant Chef at Bar Loui's Restaurant in Branson, MO.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk, IA.
Corey loved to listen to music and was a talented artist. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Minnesota Vikings. Corey was a loving father and his son, Elijah, was the light of his life.
He is survived by his parents, Scott Kelly Gibson of Keokuk, one sister, Carlee Gibson of Cedar Rapids, IA, his son, Elijah Gibson and his son's mother, Danielle Keefe both of Keokuk, IA, his grandparents, Carla Dale Albright of Keokuk, IA, Bonnie Gisbon of Keokuk, IA and Gary Gibson of California, his great-grammie, Pat Fogle of Keokuk, IA, two uncles, Curt Wollbrink and his wife Shawna and Chris Wollbrink and his wife Kassie, one aunt, Lisa Gibson, several great-aunts and uncles, including Jackie Flockhart and Jim Flockhart and his wife Sue, his cousins, Travis and Lance Gibson, Cody Crouse, Braeden Jensen Wollbrink and Kyra Alaina Wollbrink, and his godparents, Curt Wollbrink and Annette Peevler.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gary Wollbrink and his great-grandparents, Nellie Jim Flockhart, Roy Fogle, Carl Keller and Duane Zella Wollbrink.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday at the First Christian Church in Keokuk with Reverend Bill Mitchell officiating. Burial was in the Bethlehem United Church of Christ Cemetery in Sutter, IL.
Memorials may be made to his son's education fund.
