Connor Burgess 16, of Luray passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024 in Luray.

He was born July 27, 2008 in Memphis, MO the son of Shawn and Jessica Franklin Burgess.

He was currently a student at Clark County R-1 High School.

Connor lived life to the fullest. He loved the outdoors whether it was fishing at his grandpa Franklin's, camping, rock-hunting with his grandma, hunting or riding 4-wheelers. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and cousins playing football or playing his PlayStation with his brother and uncles. Super Bowl LVIII was an exciting event he shared with his uncle and brother. He was a 49er's fan and enjoyed tormenting his brother about which team was better.

Connor had a special bond with his goat, Jack and even tried to house train him. He would usually find his way to his grandparent's house and hijack their food, soda and snacks.

Connor was always willing to give a helping hand to his parents and grandparents whenever they would ask.

He is survived by his parents, Shawn and Jessica Burgess, his brother, Preston Burgess, paternal grandparents, Robert and Brenda Smith, maternal grandparents, Robin and Tracey Franklin and Laurie and Jeff Elder, aunts and uncles, Adam and Amanda, Josh and Lisa, Keith and Nessa, Nicki, Dustin and Ashley, Jeffrey, George, and Dustin along with many cousins and other family members.

He was preceded in death by an uncle, Chris.

A gathering of remembrance was held from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka with the family meeting with friends at that time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
