Clifton A. Lowrey, Jr., 70, of Keokuk, A, died Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at the Keokuk Area Hospital.
He was born on July 15,1935 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Clifton A. and Julia Foulkes Lowrey. On June 12, 1963, Clifton was united in marriage to Linda Habben in Ft. Madison, IA. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Angela Hoenig and her husband Richard and Julia Hoenig and her husband Larry all of Ft. Madison, IA, four grandchildren, Tyler, Tabitha, and Kara Hoenig and Kindra Hoenig, one brother, David Lowrey and his wife Gwen of Rochelle, IL, a cousin, Bonnie Frerichs of Burlington, IA, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Clifton had attended the United States Airforce Academy. He attended Iowa State University in Ames, IA and Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology in 1988.
He had been employed at Shellor Globe in Keokuk, IA for many years. He then worked for Industrial Engineers of Oskaloosa, IA and Escanoba, MI. He returned to Keokuk, IA to operate the family business, Lowrey Florist, and also did private industrial consulting.
Clifton was of the Christian Faith. He was a member of the Robotics Institute, and was qualified in Master Standard Data and Architect Drafting and also in OSHA inspections.
He enjoyed trying to answer trivia questions and brain teasers. He was very skilled at fixing any piece of electronic equipment and was a Hot-rod and photography enthusiast. Clifton loved his family very much and took great joy in spending time with them. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he enjoyed helping them with their homework.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Alex Kloster officiating. Burial was in the Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, IL.
