Clarence J. "Coke" Kolkovich was born November 24, 1926 in Staunton, IL, the son of Joseph and Anna Stafonick Kolkovich. "Coke" was united in marriage to Edwina L. Brown on September 26, 1948 in Staunton, IL. She preceded him on death on April 3, 1995. Coke was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Philipines during WW II. He had moved to Keokuk, IA from Elgin, IL in 1999. He had been employed at Duxler Tire and Rubber in Elgin, IL for 18 years, retiring in 1983. After he relocated to Keokuk, he purchased and opened the Quittin' Time Tavern. He was an antique collector and enjoyed going to auctions & garage sales. Coke had always dreamed of someday opening an antique store. Clarence J. "Coke" Kolkovich, 78, of Keokuk, IA, died Monday, March 14, 2005 at the Keokuk Area Hospital. He is survived by four sons, Mike Kolkovich of Cassville, WI, Mark Kolkovich of Hartwell, GA, Matthew Kolkovich of Cape Coral, FL and Martin Kolkovich of Keokuk, IA, fifteen grandchildren, Christina, Bobby, Katie, Derek, Michael, Lee, Tanya, Michael, Nicole, Daniel, Janemarie, Terese, Anna, Richard and Amanda, several great-grandchildren, and one sister Virginia Ruzzeick of Lombard, IL. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Caroline and Maime. In honor of Coke's request, his body was cremated and there were no services or visitation.
