Christine Maria Stark

Feb 5, 1964 — Sep 24, 2026

Christine Maria Stark, affectionately known to many as “Chris” or “German Chris,” 62, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026.

Chris was born on February 5, 1964, in Nürnberg (Nuremberg), Germany, to Peter Wolf and Christine Babette Müller (Bogner). Originally from Germany, where much of her family still resides, Chris eventually made her home in the United States.

In 1984, Chris married Ron Stark. Together, they welcomed two children, Sabrina and Randy, who meant the world to her. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1995.

Chris was known for her strong work ethic, determination, and unforgettable personality. Throughout her life, she held many different jobs, including working in manufacturing, bartending, and serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at the Keokuk Convalescent Center.

For the last 24 years, Chris worked as a cashier at Ayerco Convenience Store in Alexandria, Missouri. She took tremendous pride in her work and was a dedicated employee until health issues reluctantly forced her to step away.

During her years at Ayerco, Chris was especially proud of her fundraising efforts for the Wounded Warrior Project and the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Her dedication and determination earned her recognition as the store’s top promoter for several years, an accomplishment that meant a great deal to her.

To know Chris was to know someone who never met a stranger. Whether you knew her as Christine, Chris, or simply “German Chris,” she was someone you didn’t easily forget. She had a way of making people feel welcome, remembered, and cared for. She knew countless birthdays, enjoyed giving her regular customers a hard time, and always made time to listen or share a smile.

Her coworkers and customers became so much more than people she saw every day. As Chris often said, they weren’t just coworkers and customers, they were her family.

Chris had a big personality, a caring heart, and a way of leaving a lasting impression on everyone.

Above all, Chris loved her family. She was a proud mother and grandmother, and her children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

Chris is survived by her mother, Christine Babette Müller (Bogner) of Germany; her sisters, Ursula and Karola; her daughter, Sabrina Stark-French and husband Matthew French of Andrew, Iowa; and her son, Randy Stark of Missouri Valley, Iowa.

She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Ayden Stark, Abbigail Stark, Elizabeth Stark, Gwenievere Stark, Christopher Stark, Gabriela Mageestark, and Heaven Mageestark.
