Cheryl Linn Spicer, 66, of Keokuk died Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at her home.
She was born December 14, 1950 in Burlington, IA the daughter of Robert H. and Elizabeth A. Knobbs Schieffer. On April 28, 1973 she was united in marriage to John Spicer in Keokuk. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Bryan Robert Spicer of Keokuk and Kevin Andrew Spicer (Jennifer) of Keokuk, two grandchildren, Addison and Colton Spicer, her father, Robert "Bob" Schieffer of Keokuk, four brothers, Mark Schieffer (Pam) of Carthage, IL, Dan Schieffer, Keokuk, Jim Schieffer of Des Moines, IA and Matt Schieffer (Melody) of DePere, WI, three sisters, Deb Kaiser (Boyd) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kathy Kelley (Frank) of Keokuk and Julie Rector (Mark) of Keokuk, two brothers-in-law, Mark Spicer and Matt Helms (Rhianon), and one sister-in-law, Kelly Neuendorf (Mark), very close family friend, Carol Busard of Hamilton, IL, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and mother-in-law, Peggy Helms.
Cheryl graduated from Cardinal Stritch High School in Keokuk with the Class of 1969. She later attended Southeastern Community College in Keokuk.
She had been employed by several area business through the years, including Manpower, Hubinger's and Sheller Globe, all in Keokuk and later at Dial Corp. in Ft. Madison, IA for nineteen years and Dial Credit Union in Ft. Madison, IA for fifteen years.
Cheryl was a member of the Sweet Adeline's Music Group and participated in Kadiac Kapers in her early years.
Cheryl enjoyed crafts, particularly quilting and counted cross stitch. She loved to sit and relax with a good book. Cheryl adored her grandchildren, and was a faithful fan of all of their activities.
A Gathering of Remembrance was held from 4 - 7 p.m., Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with family meeting with friends at that time.
