Cheryl Lynette Overhulser, 53, of Keokuk, IA, died Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born March 21, 1956, the daughter of Howard and Mildred Holder. On October 2, 1974 she was united in marriage to John Overhulser in Alton, Oklahoma. They later divorced. She was a very artistic person and loved painting, pottery, interior decorating, flowers and decorating cakes. She also enjoyed socializing with her friends and gambling. Cheryl is survived by three daughters, Lynettia Felling and her husband Roger of Marengo, IA, Dana Overhulser of Texas, Katrina Manz and her husband DJ of Keokuk, IA, four grandchildren, Sierra Harris, Kassandra Felling, Michaela Overhulser, and Colleen Overhulser, her father, Howard Holder and his wife Vivian of Galveston, TX, her step father, Norval Schanlou of Buffalo, OK, two sisters, Melody Bryer of Buffalo, OK and Trisha Holder of Phoenix, AZ, plus nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, a brother, her son, John Overhulser, Jr. and a granddaughter, Christina Felling. Memorial services were held at 3 p.m., Monday, August 10 at the Rand Park flower garden in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Memorials may be made to the family.
