Charles "Lonnie" Alonzo Best, Jr.

Charles "Lonnie" Alonzo Best, Jr. 48, of Keokuk, IA, died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at his home in Keokuk, IA. He was born on January 22, 1965 in Keokuk, IA the son of Charles and Patsy Stark Best. He worked construction with his family. He was a graduate of Keokuk Senior High School. Charles loved taking care of his grandchildren, fishing, riding bikes, and working on cars. He also enjoyed watching action movies, playing X-box, and putting model cars together. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by three daughters, Michele Cooper and her husband James, Patty Best and her companion Brock Dunsworth, and Ariel Kalinauskas, a son, Charles Best III, three granddaughters, Nevaeh Cooper, Aaliyah Cooper, and Keira Cooper, a grandson, Braedyn Best, his father Charles Best Sr., a sister, Audrey Burgess, three brothers, Gregory Stark and his wife Sheila, Terry Best and his wife Brenda, and Dennis Best all of Keokuk and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Best and a brother, Daniel Stark. Memorial services was held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA. In the case of inclement weather it will be held at the Keokuk Labor Temple. Memorials may be made to the family.
