Charles Harry Cooper, Sr., 67, of Keokuk, IA died on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born on April 26, 1943 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Hugh Lincoln and Iola Maxine Ealy Cooper. A lifetime resident of Keokuk, he worked many years for Thomas Truck and Caster Company. He later continued in the work force for many more years with Keokuk Contractors. He was an active member of the Machinists Union. In his leisure time, Charles enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing and gardening. Survivors include two sons, Charles Cooper, Jr. of Gresham, OR and Christopher Cooper of Powell, WY, five grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Breon of Bremerton WA, C.J. Cooper of Powell, WY, Marine Cpl. Casey Ryland Cooper of Southern California, Matthew Cooper of Billings, MT and Alexa Cooper of Gresham, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother, Hugh Lincoln Cooper, Jr. The family would like to express special thanks to Charlie's special friends Walt Baker and Jim Rose for their assistance through trying times which was much appreciated. Charlie will be missed by all those whose lives were touched by his love. At Charlie's request there will be no memorial service. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Mound Cemetery in Keokuk, IA. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
