Charles Leonard Grossman, 92 of Keokuk died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Lexington Square in Keokuk.
He was born June 17, 1922 in Denmark, IA the son of Fred and Gladys Gingrich Grossman.
Charles was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country during WWII.
He had been employed at Keokuk Gas Company/Great River Gas Company/United Cities/Atmos in Keokuk for twenty-nine years.
Charles adored his grandchildren and received great joy from spending time with them.
He is survived by two daughters, Niedra Belew of Pevley, MO and Charolet Cook and her husband John of Arnold, MO, one son, Chuck Grossman of Rock Island, IL, two step-daughters, Tina Long of Rock Island, IL and Connie Brooks of Keokuk, one step-son, Andrew Blick, ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one brother, Clarence "Babe" Grossman of West Point, IA.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Floyd "Bud"
Grossman and one in infancy.
A graveside service with military rites will be held at 10 a.m., Monday at the Keokuk National Cemetery with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. The procession to the cemetery will leave from Vigen Memorial Home at 9:45 a.m.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m., Sunday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with family meeting with friends from 3-5 p.m.
