Caroline May "Pete" Mason Jobe, 80 of Keokuk died Friday, August 16, 2013 at her home. She was born February 24, 1933 in Revere, MO the daughter of James and Hazel Cargill Riffle. She married Robert N. Mason in 1950. To this union two sons, Joe and Lynn were born. Robert preceded her in death on May 17, 1990. She married Walter Jobe in 1994 who also had two sons, Richard and James. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Joe Mason and his wife Jo of Rock Island, IL and Lynn Mason and his wife Terri of Keokuk, one step-son, Richard Jobe and his wife Pam of Houston, TX, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and three sisters, Deloris Wollam of Kahoka, MO, Virginia LeMaster of Montrose, IA and Mynetta Gunn of Las Vegas, NV along with nieces and nephews. Pete was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Mason, her step-son, two brothers, two sisters and one grandson. She owned and operated the Criterion Beauty Salon for forty-nine years. Pete had an unwavering and deep faith in God and was an active participant and member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk. Pete loved traveling and making memories wherever they went. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, August 23rd, 2013 at the Keokuk National Cemetery with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Memorials may be made to the New Testament Christian Church.
