View Video Tribute Carolee was born on October 18, 1937 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest R. and Clara "Louise" Freeman Pruett. After the death of her father, her mother married Paul Hales who raised her as his daughter. On Feb 5, 1956, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Madden in Wyaconda, MO. He preceded her in death. On September 7, 1963, she married John Davis, Sr. in Kahoka, MO. She grew up in Wyaconda and graduated from Wyaconda High School in 1955. While attending school she was active in basketball and music. She rode her horse "Sparkle" to school and also competed in barrel racing. Carolee was of protestant faith and attended Alexandria Baptist Church for many years. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors Association. She was an Avon representative for more than 30 years and worked at the St. Francisville Toll Bridge for over 10 years. She lived most of her life in Alexandria until the flood of 1993 when they moved to rural Wayland, MO. In 2003, due to the effects of Alzheimer's, her family moved her to the Clark County Nursing Home. She loved bowling, playing bingo and going to the gambling boat. She touched many lives. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family. Her family held a special place in her heart, just as she did in theirs. The love and wonderful memories she has created with her family will never be forgotten. Carolee Ann Davis, of Kahoka, MO, formerly of Alexandria, MO, died Friday, September 1, 2006 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, Missouri at the age of 68. Survivors include, her husband John Davis, Sr., two daughters, Kim Worrell of Kahoka, MO and Kelly Hackett and her husband Jerry of Donnellson, IA, two sons, Kevin Madden and his wife Teresa of Centerview, MO and John Davis, Jr. and his wife Tina of Hamilton, IL, eleven grandchildren, Brandon Worrell and his wife Amy, Bronson Worrell and his wife Trisha, Linzi Worrell, Alycia and Andrea Hopp, Jessica Hanson and Chris, Jennifer Holmes and Heath, Juel Madden and Jonathan, Mike Ott and his wife Amber, Brett Davis, Todd Davis and his fiancé C.J., seven great grandchildren Taylor, Vanessa and Paige Worrell, Alex and Cameron Worrell, Brendon and Jaydon Gosnell, one sister, Mary Alice Smeltser of Wayland, MO, two brothers, Dick Pruett and his wife Faye of Wyaconda, MO and Ernest Pruett and his wife Lyle of Kimberling City, MO, one step brother, Larry Hales and his wife Marilyn of Wyaconda, MO, brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Davis of Keokuk, IA, Jim and Beverly Davis of Kahoka, MO, Frank Davis of Keokuk, IA, Tom Davis of Burlington, IA, Bill and Marilyn Davis of Warsaw, IL, and Steve and Connie Davis of Keokuk, IA and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father, mother and father-in-law, Charles and Alice Arthur Davis, one sister, Norma Johnson and one step-sister, Pauline Crandal. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Pastor Mike Shea officiating. Burial was in the Sand Cemetery in St. Francisville, MO. Visitation was held after 1 p.m., Monday with the family meeting with friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials were made to the Clark County Nursing Home Proposed Alzheimer's Unit or to the Activity Fund.
