Carol Pence

Carol D. Pence, 71, of Keokuk died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital in Ft. Madison, IA. She was born October 28, 1944 in Gorin, MO the daughter of Edward and Elva Beard Pence. In 1960 she was united in marriage to Brigido Becerra in Ft. Madison, Ia. They later divorced. Carol had been employed by Sheller Globe for thirty years. She enjoyed traveling and spent the last few winters in Florida. Carol's constant companion was her dog Missy, who was never far from her side. Carol is survived by two daughters, Therese Egley of Keokuk and Tina Robertson (Jason) of Wayland, MO, one son, Tony Becerra (Ketra) of Carthage, IL, twelve grandchildren, Nikki Cale, Deacon (Lauren) Egley, Dominic Egley, Breanna Egley, Brittani Egley, Brigido Egley, Christa Egley, Richie Rhodes, Danielle (Jared) Smelster, Cody Rhodes and Amy Becerra and Austin Becerra, two great-grandchildren, one sister, Sharon Thomas of Keokuk, one brother, Jack Pence (Sheila) of Jesup, IA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Larry Pence and one great-grandson, Gabriel Emmitt Egley. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Memphis Cemetery in Memphis, Missouri. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
