Carl "Shorty" Clayton Martin, 86, of Kahoka, Missouri died Friday, September 7, 2007 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa. He was born May 21, 1921 in Guthrie Center, Iowa the son of Chas and Berta Marlo Martin. Carl enlisted in the United States Army and served during WWII. He worked for Freuhauf as a welder until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Anson Community Church. He is survived by six children, Dan Martin of Kahoka, MO, Pat Rudge and her husband Mark of Danville, IL, Charles Martin of Columbia, MO, Pam Koch and her husband Tommy of Lexington, IL, Peg Martin of Kahoka, MO and Bruce Martin of Auxvasse, MO, fifteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children Bruce and Michael Martin and two brothers, Bruce and Billy Martin. Memorial graveside services were held 10:00 a.m., Monday at the Kahoka Cemetery with Pastor Mike Shea officiating. Memorials may be made to the Clark County Ambulance.
