C. Elizabeth "Beth" Haage Upp, 92, of Keokuk died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. Beth was born on August 20, 1921 in Swan Lake, OK the daughter of Lucien E. and Cora Avis Flanagan Risk. Beth was united in marriage to Arthur T.R. Haage on August 17, 1940 in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1965. On May 2, 1973, Beth was united in marriage to Harris Upp in Keokuk. He preceded her in death in 1975. She graduated from the Canton High School, Canton, MO with the Class of 1939. She also attended Indian Hill Community College to become a key punch operator. Beth was a member of the First Christian Church of Keokuk, IA. She enjoyed reading and crocheting items for her family. Beth was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and treasured the time she spent with her family. Beth is survived by one daughter, Nila Jobe and her husband John of Keokuk, two sons, Steve Haage and his wife Joycelyn of Keokuk and David Haage and his wife Ellen of La Jara, Colorado, seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, one brother, Marion Risk of Toledo, OH, two sisters, June Green of Longview, TX and Nila Tyrrel of Salem, Oregon, a sister in law, Kathryn Ruth Risk of Lawrence, Kansas and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lowell Risk, Henry "Wishy" Risk and Bob Risk, one sister, Alice Hinton and one great grandson, Brenden Haage. Beth donated her body for medical research to the University of Iowa Hospital. Family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Keokuk, IA. The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA is assisting the family with arrangements.
