Brian Wesley Adams, 34, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014, in Orlando, Fla. Brian was born June 20, 1979, in Keokuk. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Iraq War as an electronic tech on nuclear submarines for eight years. Officer Adams worked for the past four years as a correctional officer for Coleman Federal Correctional Institute. Brian was an excellent family man and was a great husband and father. He enjoyed fine dining and was an excellent cook himself. Brian took great pleasure in entertaining and spending time with his family and friends. He loved playing his guitar and playing poker and was an avid movie buff and a big Green Bay Packers fan. Brian is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Renee Adams; beloved son, Wesley Clarence Adams; mother, Jacqueline Bair (Robert) of Keokuk; grandparents, C.E. and Joy Adams of Keokuk and Peggy Bair of Camp Point, Ill.; siblings, Melanie Adams of Charlotte, N.C., and Jeffery Bair (Jaime) and Lauren Adams, both of Keokuk; nieces and nephews, Skyler Fleck, Ryan Bair, and Jackson Bair; mother-in-law, Ellen Bartlett of Venice, Fla.; father-in-law, Douglas Bowman (Deborah) of Venice; brother-in-law, Chris Steffes (Shelley) of Madison, Wis.; sister–in-law, Ashley Bowman of Orlando; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Edward Adams; grandfather, Russell Bair; and grandparents, Matha and Jack Kraus. Memorial services with military rites were held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Veterans Memorial in Keokuk. Burial was in the Montrose Cemetery in Montrose, IA. Memorials may be made for his son Wesley's college education fund. Local arrangements are being handled by the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA.
