Brett Michael Edmiston, 22, of Keokuk, IA, died Sunday, August 7, 2016.
He was born on September 16, 1993 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Kent and Mary Keefe Edmiston. He graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 2012.
Brett had been employed at the Flying J in Wayland, MO and Midwest Grain in Kahoka, MO.
Brett was a happy, loving and generous young man. He never hesitated to reach out to people and help in any way he could, and never expected anything in return. He was the guy that everybody relied on. Brett loved being an uncle and hanging out with his nieces and nephews. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing and mowing. He also enjoyed listening to rap music. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Edmiston of Keokuk, his father, Kent Edmiston of Keokuk, four sisters, Danielle Keefe of Keokuk, Cynthia Edmiston of Chicago, IL, Samantha Edmiston of Niantic, Connecticut and Shanna Edmiston of Cedar Rapids, IA, one brother, Troy Edmiston of Keokuk, nieces and nephews, Elijah Gibson, Ryder Keefe, Miley Edmiston, Chandler Edmiston, Isabella Meyers and Amiyah and Alijah Smith, his grandmother, Grace Ann Edmiston of Keokuk several aunts, uncles and cousins and special friends, Dalton Meyers, Cassie & Dez Smith, Lisa and Mike Meyers and Jake and Carey Wrieden.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alice and Earl Mahoney, his great-grandmother, Clara Edmiston and three uncles.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Bro. Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk.
