Bonnie Faye Thompson, 73, of Keokuk, IA, formerly of Canon City, CO, died Saturday, April 7, 2007 at her home. She was born on October 26, 1933 in Springfield, CO, the daughter of Eugene R. and Alice M. Houser Cochran. On July 31, 1949, Bonnie was united in marriage to Vernon Thompson in Canon City, CO. She and Vernon made their home in Canon City for fifty-nine years before relocating to Keokuk, IA. She had been employed with the Peralite Company in Canon City, CO. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Vernon of Keokuk, IA, three daughters, Dale Bowman and her husband Ron of Colorado Springs, CO, Peg Herlyck and her husband Les of Blocksburg, CA, and Kelli Christy and her husband Pete of Revere, MO, three grandchildren, Jesse Herlyck, Amber Christy and Angela Christy, and one sister, Doris Harding of Canon City, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bob Cochran, and three sisters, Lois Meigs, Mary Elizabeth Cochran and Mary Jo Cochran. According to her wishes, her body has been cremated and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lee County Hospice or the Keokuk Humane Society.
