View Video Tribute Bonita Lee "Bonnie" Dodd McLaughlin, 66, of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at her home. She was born April 23, 1945 in Quincy, IL the daughter of William and Mildred B. Schutte Dodd. On May 21, 1966 Bonnie was united in marriage to Fred McLaughlin in Quincy, IL. He preceded her in death on July, 29, 2007. Bonnie graduated from the Payson High School in Payson, IL with the Class of 1963. She later attended Gem City Business College in Quincy. She worked for WGEM in Quincy for six years. After moving to Keokuk, Bonnie was the co-owner of McLaughlin Auto Supply with her husband, Fred. She had also been employed at Methode in Carthage, IL and Cramer Real Estate in Keokuk. Most recently she was the co-owner of Carriage Works Antiques in Hamilton, IL. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Keokuk, Questers (Kalawequois Chapter), the Keokuk Community Choir, Lee County Historical Society, BPW and St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Bonnie enjoyed interior decorating and restoring houses. She also enjoyed antiquing and bargain hunting, traveling, singing, playing bridge and cooking for her family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Marc F. McLaughlin and his wife Jennifer of West Burlington, IA and Michael L. McLaughlin and his wife Leica of Little Rock, AR, two brothers-in-law, Rick McLaughlin and his wife Billy of Naperville, IL and Mike McLaughlin and his wife Julie of Quincy, IL, two granddaughters, Marley Brett, three grandsons, Cullen, Sam, and Nick, two nieces and two nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Estelle Dodd, and one step-sister, Diane Weissenberger. A graveside service was held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Quincy Memorial Park, 5300 Broadway, in Quincy, IL with Reverend Alice Hawes officiating. Memorials may be made to the United Presbyterian Church or Lee County Hospice.
