Bonnie J. Hayden, 70, of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born on February 21, 1941 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Charles and Mary Stow Deitrich. She was united in marriage to Melvin Hayden on December 30, 1963 in Kahoka, MO. He survives. Other survivors include one step daughter, Vickie Carter, one step-son, Melvin Bruce Hayden, three step grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren, two sister-in-laws, Alice Howard of Keokuk, IA and Frances McAndrew of Kahoka, MO, one brother-in-law, Bill Hayden and his wife Janice of Wayland, MO, one uncle, James Deitrich of Keokuk, IA, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three children in infancy and one sister Sandra Tigue. Bonnie graduated from Keokuk Senior High School with the Class of 1959. She was very involved as a troop leader with the Girl Scouts, Brownies and Cub Scouts in her earlier years. She enjoyed collecting dolls and going for rides in the car with her husband, Melvin. Bonnie was very proud of her husband's woodworking projects. There will be no services or visitation. Private burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk, IA.
