Bonnie J. Gibson, 81, of Hamilton, IL died peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL of heart failure. She was born on August 19, 1927 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Joseph S. and Pansy V. Howell. Bonnie had been a resident of Hamilton, IL since 1958. She was employed at the Iowa Ammunition Plant in Middleton, IA for approximately 40 years before her retirement in 1989. She enjoyed doing word seek puzzles, feeding her birds and the company of her dog, Tanner James. Bonnie was a devoted mother and grandmother and helped raise her four grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Taylor and her husband Derryl "Dusty" of Hamilton, IL , four grandchildren, Kim Ludwick and her husband Darrell of rural Canton, MO, Kevin Taylor, Kris Taylor and his wife Sheri of Keokuk, and Troy Davis of Hamilton, five great-grandchildren, Katie Obreque, Morgan Taylor, Bobby Porter, B.J. Herriman and Jimmy Herriman, two great-great-grandchildren, Ahmi and Adli Obreque, two brothers, Edward Coop and his wife Rosemary of Fernando Beach, FL, Joseph Coop and his wife Laurie of The Villages, FL, one sister, Marilyn Jones and her husband Ron of Dubuque, IA, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Marjorie Jean Lindner, one brother, Richard Coop and one sister, Virginia Berry. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with The Reverend Monsignor Greg Ketchum officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery, Hamilton, IL. Memorials may be made to P.A.W.S. Animal Shelter in Ft. Madison or Blessing Hospital Intensive Care Unit in Quincy, IL.
