Blanche M. Roberts, 90, of Keokuk died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Lexington Square in Keokuk. She was born March 24, 1924 in Warroad, MN, the daughter of Fritz Merchant and Grace Steeples Locke (Lemon). On March 15, 1941, Blanche was united in marriage to Boyd C. Roberts in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death in June 1995. She had been employed at the Huiskamp Shoe Factory in Keokuk. She was also the owner of the B & B Tap in Keokuk. For many years Blanche was a Stanley dealer. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk. She also was a member of TOPS and two Canasta Clubs. Blanche loved to play cards and Bingo and read romance novels. She was also a fan of several soap operas on television. Blanche enjoyed walking and walked everyday with the girls at the mall. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Jean (Jack) Kratzer of Ft. Madison and Bonnie Lee Meyers of Keokuk, one son, Jerry Boyd (Bonita) Roberts, thirteen grandchildren, Larry Drew Roberts, Jr. , Dean Kratzer. Kenneth Kratzer Stacey Jones, Patrick Davis, Tawney Davis, Kirk Hawkins, Glen (Janan) Meyers, Rhonda Carel, Jerry (Terri) Roberts II and Jamie (Beverly) Roberts, Debbie (Bill) Worrell and Christine (Chris) House, ten great-grandchildren, Reece, Lukas, Matthew, Dabney, Jadelyn, Sierra, Deana, Taelor, Joseph and Lacey and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Larry Roberts, Sr., one brother, Charles Locke and his wife Zelda, one sister, Edna Johns and her husband Claude "Babe" Johns. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 18th, 2014 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk. Burial will be held at a later date at the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk.
