Blaine "Sarge" Clancy, 61, of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.
He was born on June 8, 1965, in Bloomfield, Iowa, the son of Lyle Eugene and Verna Mae Willier Clancy.
Sarge graduated from Davis County High School in Bloomfield with the Class of 1983. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the Army National Guard during Operation Desert Storm.
Throughout his working years, Sarge was employed at Heatilator in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He also enjoyed the unique experience of traveling and working with carnivals, an adventure that allowed him to meet many people.
In his free time, Sarge enjoyed collecting geodes and had a talent for crafting knives from deer antlers.
Sarge is survived by his daughter, Makayla Clancy (Curtis McKune) of Keokuk; his granddaughters, Raven, Ivy and Azurite; his former wife, Sue Clancy of Keokuk; one brother, Brian Clancy; three sisters, Bonnie Clancy, Beverly Schumacher, and Barb Showalter; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Verna Clancy; his brother, Brent Clancy; and his faithful four-legged companion, Athena.
Visitation will be held from 1 – 3 p.m., Sunday, August 9 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk.
