Bill Ray Rule 58, of Keokuk, IA, died Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk. He was born on September 30, 1951 in Keokuk, IA, the son of William "Herc" and Roberta M. Schuster Rule. On April 5, 1991, Bill was united in marriage to Jeanne Sturm in Keokuk, IA. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Benjamin Rule and his wife Cassie of Montrose, IA, Michael Rule of Keokuk, IA, three daughters, Brandy Rule of Montrose, IA, Misty Sturm of Keokuk, IA, Ashley Stehl of Keokuk, IA, seven grandchildren, Jovan Rule, Schuyler Gutting, Tanner Sturm, Mercedes Stehl, Brayden Stehl, Jacelynn Stehl, and Colton Mullen, two brothers, Harry Rule of Montrose, IA, Keith Rule of Montrose, IA, and one sister, Sue Hill and her husband Richard of Montrose, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Hunter Rule. He graduated from Central Lee High School with the class of 1967. He attended Southeastern Community College in Keokuk for two years. Bill had been employed by Trellex Morse in Keokuk for 31 years. Most recently he had been employed at the Dale Auwaerter Farms in Montrose. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and watching car races. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 10 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Dr. Jim Eads officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
