Betty L. Jones Groves Zech, 65, of Keokuk, IA died Friday, October 6, 2006 at the Keokuk Area Hospital. She was born on May 29, 1941 in Magnolia, AR, the daughter of William Ivis and Jessie Cora Bailey Jones. She married Richard Groves in 1959. He preceded her in death in 1988. In 1997, she married Gerald Zech. He preceded her in death in 2002. Betty attended the Faith Assembly of God Church in Hamilton, IL. She had been employed as a caregiver for the elderly. She enjoyed going to yard sales and spending time with her grandchildren. Betty always thought of others before herself and was willing to help anyone. She is survived by one daughter Brenda Huntington and her husband Mark of Keokuk, IA, three sons, William Vernon Groves, Dennis Groves and his wife Karen and Troy Groves all of Keokuk, IA, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchildren, two brothers, Jay Bailey and his wife Luella of Hamilton, IL, John Jones and his wife Mary of Des Moines, IA, and one sister, Sue Howe and her husband Truman of Urbana, IL. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Becky Shoup. Funeral serviceswere held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 10 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Tom Spain officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, IL.
