Betty Irene Polson, 80, of Warsaw, IL, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA.
She was born on August 15, 1926 in Green City, MO, the daughter of Albert and Florence Pierce Larsen.
She married Leroy Grisham in 1942 in Warsaw, IL. She married Vic McDonald in 1960. On October 3, 1965, Betty married Ellis Polson in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1992.
She had been employed at Graham Hospital in Keokuk, IA, for twenty five years. She also had been employed at Kentucky Fried Chicken and owned and operated Betty's Resale Boutique in Keokuk for fifteen years, retiring in 2000.
She was a member of New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA.
Betty enjoyed bowling, sewing, watching NASCAR, visiting the Emerald Lady gambling boat, and playing Yahtzee. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Patty Pyles and her husband Phil, of Warsaw, IL, and Sharon Kay Vinzant of Tacoma, WA, one son, Rick Grisham of Keokuk, IA, one step-son Larry Polson of Kansas City, MO, three grandchildren, Kim Cameron and her husband Perry, Michelle Coan and her husband Jim, Rickelle Nelson and her husband Corey, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, Jennifer Jones her husband Casey, Matthew Cameron, Syrus Nelson, Blake Coan and Madalynn Coan.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Warner Gene Snell, one sister in infancy, Anna Rose Larsen, one half-brother, Kenneth Snell and one half-sister, Mabel Muchler.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Thursday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery. Cancer Society or the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA.
