Betty "Joannie" Joan Pippin, 71, of West Point, IL died Sunday, December 18, 2005 at the Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, Iowa. She was born January 7, 1934 in Milan, IL the daughter of Roy and Bessie Leasman Damp. She graduated from the Colchester High School with the Class of 1952. Joannie moved to California and lived there 24 years and later moved to Arizona for 6 years before moving to West Point, IL in 1988. She drove the van for the Carthage Senior Center for 3 years until her retirement in 1995. Joannie loved to sew and read romance novels, even when her eyesight went bad she listened to books on tape. She enjoyed watching nature especially, birds and the beautiful color of flowers. She is survived by two sons, Kelly J. Logan of West Point, IL, William T. "Bill" Pippin of Lake Havasu, AZ, one daughter, Nancy M. Pippin Magness of Wittmann, AZ, and 6 beautiful grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather. There will be no visitation or services. A private family service will be held when her children scatter her cremated remains in the Colorado River. The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA is in charge of arrangements.
