Betty L. Day, 85, of Elderville, IL died Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at her home in Elderville.
She was born on July 17, 1926 in Marshalltown, IA, the daughter of Louis and Mamie Ruth Homan Wieprecht. She married Glen Day and he preceded her in death.
In her younger years Betty had worked at the Button Factory, the Shoe Factory and the Sunset Home all in Quincy, IL. She also cleaned houses for her neighbors.
Betty attended the Assembly of God Church in Hamilton, IL. She was a member of the 7-17 Club which was a club for those who had the birthday of 7-17.
She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and sewing. She also enjoyed collecting coins and stamps.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Day and his wife Lisa of California, Wayne Day of Warsaw, IL and Ronnie Day and his wife Lea of Lorraine, IL, three daughters, Dolly Stancil of Ft. Madison, IA, Cindy Williams and her husband Alan of St. Louis, MO and Jane Day of Warsaw, IL, sixteen grandchildren, Tina Cox and her husband Gerald, Cathy Hunter and her husband Craig, Terry Day, Erin and Seth Finley, Robert and Glen Day, Becky and Stephen Angeletti, Kenny Day and his wife Angie, Deanna Campbell and her husband Doug, April Day, Michael Day, Justin Day and his wife Bambi, Adam Pitman and Stacey Pitman, twenty great-grandchildren, two sisters, Tiny Creach and Viola Richardson and her husband Don all of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Day, one daughter, Rosa Pitman, one granddaughter, Rhonda Day, one sister, Pearl Glassford and three brothers, Dick, Bud and Buster Wieprecht.
Funeral serviceswere held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA . Burialwas in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, IL.
