Betty Joan Carroll, 73, of Keokuk, IA died Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA. She was born on March 29, 1936 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of George and Johanna Dommerman Johnson. On September 22, 1951 Betty was united in marriage to Bill E. Carroll. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2006. Betty was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk, IA. She was a loving mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed playing cards and doing puzzles. Betty is survived by one daughter Donna McVeigh and her husband Russell of Hamilton, IL, two sons, David Carroll and his wife Debbie and Dan Carroll and his wife Mickey all of Keokuk, IA, four grandsons, Brian Carroll and his wife Tisha of Bowen, IL, Chris Carroll and his wife Kayleigh of Hamilton, IL, Dayton Carroll and his wife Emma of Germany, and Matthew McVeigh and his wife April of Honolulu, HI, one granddaughter, Nikki McVeigh of Hamilton, IL, five great grandchildren, two brothers, Don Johnson and his wife Joann of Keokuk, IA and Bill Johnson and his wife Freda of Hamilton, IL, three half –sisters, Jan Allen of Keokuk, IA, Pam McGhghy of Mission, TX and Barb Oakley of Orlando, FL. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, IL. Memorials may be made to the All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk, IA.
